    Kindergarten

Fiona aims to create a safe atmosphere for her youngest learners by building a warm rapport with them, so that they feel ready and encouraged to learn. She uses interactive activities and educational games in her teaching and provides them with rich language experiences. Fiona’s students build strong foundational skills in English so that they can progress through their early school lives confidently.

  • Pre-Nursery

Helping young children to become confident English speakers with their first vocabulary, and listeners who understand instructions by providing short fun activities suitable for their attention span including playing, singing, and crafts

    Storytelling

Involving children in exciting stories with repetitive and rhyming elements that grow their understanding and connect them with key language patterns, that they can later use in their own unique stories

    Phonics

Using songs, games, and interactive activities to teach key phonics skills that children will use throughout their kindergarten and primary years to become strong readers and writers

    Primary School Preparation

Supporting students through the interview and assessment process as they transition towards their chosen primary schools

    Cambridge Young Learner Examinations

Practicing the key vocabulary and skills needed to excel in the reading and writing, speaking, and listening components of the Starters, Movers, and Flyers assessments

Trinity College London General Examinations in Spoken English

Introducing the key communication and grammar points, and helping children confidently pass the examination

  • "We feel very lucky to have Miss Fiona, our children love her lessons. They really enjoy Fiona's storytelling and they like interacting with her. She has helped them to start to read by themselves by teaching them phonics skills and they have gained a lot of confidence. Fiona is very easy to deal with."

  • "We chose Fiona to tutor our girls because she provides fun and interesting lessons and doesn’t just follow a textbook. For example, our eldest daughter enjoyed making a treasure map, which was an interactive activity Fiona created to practice writing and giving instructions. Fiona can also tackle any queries that might come up when the girls are studying and support them to understand and complete exercises for school or exams."
